In using the context checks, you ask a series of questions that will help ensure that the decision you make is simultaneously socially, economically, and environmentally sound and is in line with your Holistic Context. If the situation is a major or complicated one, you might want to have your Holistic Context in front of you as you think through the checking questions. If the decision passes most or all of the checks and it is clear that it is within context, you will have added confidence in moving forward. If it fails one or more of the checks, it can mean a number of things:

1. It will not work, so you abandon the idea or decision;
2. The decision/action needs to be modified; or
3. You go ahead with the decision or action knowing that sooner or later you will have to deal with the reasons it didn't pass the checks.

If you find yourself uncertain as to whether or not a decision passes one or more of the checks, it means one or more of the following things:

1. You need more information;
2. You are unclear on what you are checking;
3. A particular check does not apply in this situation; or
4. You need to revisit your Holistic Context.
